I DESPERATELY need help with my English monologue, and any help would help me out. Some people in Shakespeare's time wanted the theatre closed. What are some reasons why it should stay open? Any help would be grately appreciated. Please leave a comment in the chat box, or in the comment section where it says "Post a Comment"
the theatre is fun and it allows people of all statuses to connect. also, some plays, like mcbeth for instance, teach people about real history. not sure if that was what you were looking for, but i hope i helped!
during the 1950s where no television exists, the theatre is there to provide entertainment to the masses as what Shakespeare and the other playrights did. it was used to provide a clearer picture of some of the great works. think about a play which cannot be interpreted. that's where the theatre comes in. they would need a venue to interpret the said play.
I agree with the other 2 comments... It was the main object of entertainment for people in that time. Also, it was a way for people to come together and appreciate something all together while hopefully putting differences aside for a couple of hours. For the actors and actresses, theatre performances were a good outlet for their feelings and a way that they could maybe express themselves. Hope I helped! (:
